LEARNING BASED ON REAL PROJECTS FOR MECHATRONICS ENGINEERING

During the degree you will be presented with different challenges in the form of projects, which will help you develop the skills necessary to practice your profession, as well as the ability to solve problems and manage responsibility. In addition, you will learn to work in multidisciplinary groups.

The technical level of the challenges increases as the courses progress, with the proposed topics being related to the subjects of the study plan for that course.

The development of a prototype capable of obtaining parts through a rotational moulding process or a prototype prepared to cut metal sheets are examples of challenges posed during the 2nd year. This development involves both the design and sizing of the mechanical components and the selection of the electrical and electronic elements. The project culminates with the manufacture, assembly and commissioning of a functional prototype.

During the 3rd and 4th years, the challenges posed are aimed at responding to problems related to the automation of processes, the implementation of sensors or aspects related to robotics and artificial vision. Examples of these projects could be the development and manufacture of a scaled-down smart car park, or the programming and creation of an assembly and disassembly station assisted by cameras and an industrial robot.

From the 3rd year onwards, you will have the option of doing internships in a real business environment, which will allow you to apply and expand your knowledge. These company internships are combined with learning in the classroom and laboratories at the university.
